		<description>Okay, while this list is like so many others with so much extra junk that you don&#039;t really need, I certainly appreciate triathletes stimulating the economy so please, do go get this stuff.

I&#039;m responding to a blip left on my blog concerning mastery and the darling picture of a kitty stashed in a backpack caught my eye, to quote the Aussies, &quot;good on ya!&quot;

Kitty or no kitty, you need a helmet, bike, bike shoes, running shoes, hat (optional) and a bag for schlepping this stuff. Everything else is optional. Seriously.

I raced very competitively without 3/4 of the stuff mentioned at most triathlon sites. Keep it simple, keep your focus on your own journey of mastery and leave the fluff to finishers (which is also very cool, but, not the same thing as racing...).
