You are really going to want to choose a bicycle that fits your body perfectly, comfortable, and also fits your budget. You can buy an extremely expensive bike, but if it does not fit your frame, then it is completely worthless when it comes to meeting your bicycling needs.
The final issue that you are going to want to consider when it comes to bikes is whether you want a bike that has a classic road geometry to it, or to choose one that is more specifically triathlon oriented or forward oriented in nature. The difference that plays an important role in this decision is where your center of gravity is going to end up being in relation to the bottom bracket on your bike.
A road frame bicycle is going to put it further back. On the other hand, the standard triathlon frame is going to move you forward instead. The justification for this is that being more forward is going to make it simpler for you to get into the right position for aero bar, as well as saving some of the power from your legs so that the run, which comes after the bicycling portion of the race, is not as overwhelming and arduous as it would have been if you would have had to pedal harder or with more power.
Generally speaking, if you are more flexible, then you are going to want to go for a position that is more relaxed in nature. This is because this is where someone with less flexibility is going to be capable of generating the biggest amount of power. Some bicycles will allow you to opt for both, and this is going to allow you to test drive different positions until you have figured out which one is going to work out for you the best over a period of time.
The biggest and most important investment that you can ever make when it comes to bicycling gear is to have a good set of wheels. Make sure that you are relying upon your bike expert to guide you through the right wheel options based on your weight, your frame size and the conditions of the race. Make sure that you are choosing aero rims and a minimum number of spokes. Do not sacrifice the integrity of your wheels for the sake of speed. Choose the right wheels for your bike, the right bike for your body, and you will do just find in the end.

One of the most vitally important pieces of equipment that you are going to need to choose when it comes to triathlon preparedness is a wetsuit. One of the first things that you’re going to need to consider when it comes to buying a wetsuit is the type of races that you are going to be participating in and completing as well as where you will be competing. If you are racing in hotter climates, for example, you may not even need a wetsuit, but in cooler climates, having the right wet suit is vitally necessary.
The water temperature cut off for wet suits is 78 degrees Fahrenheit or 25 C. This means if the water is above the 78 degree mark, Fahrenheit, then wetsuits are not going to be allowed in order for people to win awards in a race. One is still capable of wearing a wet suit up until the point of 84 degrees Fahrenheit or 28 degrees Celsius, but they will be ineligible for winning an award.
So should you wear a wetsuit? Should you avoid wearing a wetsuit? There are no rules that state that you should, but obviously there are rules for when you cannot. There are many swimmers that swim in cool water and never put on a wetsuit, but it is because they are capable of training their bodies to get used to the cool water, and this is something that you may also want to consider.
If you are not adapted to chilly water, then you are going to want to wear a wetsuit to prevent yourself from getting too cold. The beginning of a race can be cold, and wearing a wet suit can keep you warmer when it is chilly out. If you want your body to be warm at the beginning of the race then this is a good way for you to go. If you are standing around and shivering from the cold then you are not going to get a strong start when the race begins.
So which wetsuit is best? There are full sleeve wetsuits and sleeveless wetsuits. The sleeveless variety will offer greater shoulder flexibility which is important if you do not have a lot of shoulder mobility. Your shoulders and arms may get cold without the added protection, however. You will be kept the warmest in a full sleeve wetsuit. Full length wet suits may cause a problem with shoulder mobility, however, so practice in your wetsuit before you commit to wearing it on race day. The best wetsuit is going to be the one that works for you the best, regardless of what it is. Choose the one that feels the most comfortable and wear in the race for the best results. The best wetsuit for you is the one that helps you do your best, perform your best, and achieve your triathlon goals.

The very first thing you will be wearing when you start a triathlon should help you instead of hinder you. This is why many athletes wear triathlon wetsuits regardless of what the temperature of the water is. This is because of everything the wetsuit offers. There are a few different factors to keep in mind when buying the wetsuit you will wear in competition. Not least in importance is making sure the suit you purchase will be allowed in the competition you are entering.
Following the Rules
The reason why some events are restrictive when it comes to triathlon wetsuits is because of the unfair advantage it can give some people. Not all wetsuits will do anything more than allow you to keep your skin warm and dry when you are swimming. Make sure you pay close attention to what the rules are. The last thing you want is to be disqualified in the first section of the triathlon. This is completely avoidable as long as you know what the rules are and you make sure you follow them to the letter.
Boosting Speed with a Wetsuit
One of the ways triathlon wetsuits are different from a regular wetsuit is they are designed to reduce friction. These wetsuits are designed to provide less friction than the skin on your body. This will allow all of your energy to be converted directly into forward movement. This is why many athletes will wear a full body wetsuit even while it is summer. The idea is to use every tool in your arsenal to get the best time possible.
How the Wetsuit is Different
Triathlon wetsuits differ from a normal wetsuit in many ways. Not only do they reduce friction, they also increase buoyancy for the swimmer. This will make it easier for your body to stay near the surface of the water. You will not have to struggle to lift your legs out of the water because the suit will help this to happen. The other way the suit is different is because it has more flexibility to be able to complete a powerful stroke. The points which have the most flexibility are under the armpits and in the groin. This will give you maximum athletic movement so can get the best time possible.
Choosing the Right Wetsuit
Since triathlon wetsuits should perform as well as possible, you need to make sure you are comfortable in the suit itself. This means going to a store and trying on every suit they have. Try to go through the range of motions you will use while swimming. The right wetsuit will not pinch of bunch up when you go through a swim stroke. Every motion should be fully supported without creating any drag. If the wetsuit feels too tight or too loose in any way, you should not buy it. If you have tried all the suits the store offers, try a different store until you find the right one.

Are you thinking about joining a triathlon competition? If you have enjoyed athleticism in the past or are involved in endurance sports and are interested in joining a triathlon, the first step is to know exactly how to approach your triathlon training. Training correctly is very important when it comes to endurance sporting events like triathlon. If you do not have enough training, then your competitive performance will be poor and you may even become injured or ill as a result.
What should triathlon newbies keep in mind?
1 – First and foremost, when you are first starting out it is absolutely vital that you pace yourself. You need to avoid trying to prove to anyone else that you can do it, including yourself, your family, your spouse, or even your dog. You need to be able to start off slowly, and you need to be able to gradually build yourself up to longer workouts and greater speeds. If you do not do this, the only thing that you will prove is that you can make yourself too exhausted to be able to be competitive properly on race day. If you don’t take things slow, you’ll go too far and will end up hurt or sick, potentially for weeks.
2 – Next, you need to keep in mind how important it is for you to stretch well. Lack of stretching is going to rob your muscles of their strength, as well as taking flexibility away from your movements, which can lead to some truly serious injuries. Your stretching regimen should be truly involved, and it should it should cover all of your muscle groups at once. You should take your time, and you absolutely should not ever take stretching lightly because it is truly vital for your training regimen.
3 – If you ever feel like you are too tired to work out in the same intensity level that you planned, stop. This does not mean that you cannot push yourself to the limit, but what it does mean is that you need to know and thoroughly understand your capabilities and limits. If you go too far, you put yourself at risk for injury, illness and burn out. You need to be able to listen carefully to your body to know when you are strongest, and when you truly need to rest in order to restore your health.
4 – Building on the aforementioned tip, when you build a schedule for working out, you should stick to it, but only as long as you are not putting yourself at risk. Build a strong mental focus and you will find it easier to be committed and to feel energized when you go about your workout every day. You should plan your workouts up until the day before the race, exercising caution not to overdo it or to over tax your body.
