			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://www.swimbikerunner.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/swimleague.jpg" alt="" title="swimleague" width="240" height="160" class="left" />Every swimmer is looking for an advantage over the rest of the pack. One source which remains untapped for many people is the swim league. They view a league as a team effort and would prefer to swim on their own. The thing to keep in mind here is unless you have the money to hire your own coach, this is the best way to get the kind of instruction which will help you improve. You will also be able be in constant competition with those you are in a league with.</p>
<p><strong>Choosing a Good League</strong></p>
<p>Most cities will have more than one swim league you can join. This is true no matter what age you are. Take the time to find a league which has a good reputation. This is important because the better the team is, you better instruction you will receive. You can practice all day every day, but unless you are practicing correctly you will not improve. The old adage of practice makes perfect should be changed to “perfect practice makes perfect.” What makes a good league includes those which produce good swimmers with good swim times.</p>
<p><strong>Swimming is Mental</strong></p>
<p>If you are worried about joining a swim league because you do not want to be held back, it is important to remember how individualized swimming is. Even when you are swimming in a relay event, you have to swim for you. You can only ever swim to the best of your ability. This means when you train with a group, you will gain the ability to swim better as an individual. While you will learn as a group, what you can only do as good as you allow yourself to. This is why in a league setting, you will still have stand out performers.</p>
<p><strong>Leagues Have the Right Training Equipment</strong></p>
<p>Another advantage you will have when training with a swim league is equipment. Leagues will possess the kick boards, floaters, paddle boards and flippers you can use to train with. You will not only have access to the equipment which will make you a better swimmer, you will receive the instructions on how best to use the equipment you are training with. This will make you a better overall swimmer as well as help you in training individually after you decide to train on your own.</p>
<p><strong>Challenges in Training</strong></p>
<p>Another advantage you get in joining a swim league is the constant challenges you get from the other members. You will swim against each other to practice what you have learned. While you should always challenge yourself, it is always fun to mark your performance against others. The better the people you train with, the more of a challenge you can create for yourself. Challenging yourself mentally and as a member of a team will allow your performance level to be the best it can possibly be. Even if you will eventually leave the league, you will learn training skills which will improve your performance for the rest of your life.</p>

There has been a switch between those who bike for fun and those who are biking for a reason. This creates a unique opportunity for parents who enjoy biking and would like to share the activity with their children. You can sign up for family competitions and mixed age events which will allow your children to compete in the same events you are competing in. It will also give them something to strive for in their future of biking.</p>
<p><strong>Keep Biking Fun</strong></p>
<p>While more <a href="http://www.swimbikerunner.com/bike-shop/Bicycles-and-Frames/Kids-Bikes">children bike</a> with intent, it is important to keep everything grounded. Make sure your children are having fun when they are riding. This will make it where they will stick with biking for the rest of their life. Biking should be a way of life, not something which is a have to do. By riding with your children, you will be able to have fun in competition. Try letting your children win a few times in races. Make something fun like ice cream a treat for completing a challenging ride with a good time. You should still give some kind of reward just for trying so they do not feel biking is do-or-die.</p>
<p><strong>Find a Club to Join</strong></p>
<p>There are bike clubs you can join in your area. Children bike clubs are just as prevalent as adult clubs. These clubs help to teach your kids the fundamentals of safe riding. They will also go on great trips with the club. Some clubs do not have age restrictions. This means you can join the same club your children are in. You will be able to learn what they are learning and make sure they understand everything which they have been taught.</p>
<p><strong>Sign up for Some Races</strong></p>
<p>Whether you are in a club or not, there are bike races in your city for all ages. Signing up your kids in a children bike race is a way for them to have fun and get a taste of friendly competition. This is a great way to teach your kids the importance of competing for fun instead of competing purely for winning. Try to remind them when they lose that every race teaches them fundamentals which will help them in future races. Having grace after losing a race is important to a life of good sportsmanship.</p>
<p><strong>Joining a Team</strong></p>
<p>For children with more ambition, there are teams which they can join. These include teams which form in their schools as well as teams which are local. These are good way to go from children bike races to Olympic level racing. The only thing standing between some children and the highest levels of competition is the right instruction and the right opportunities. As long as your children can remain grounded, there is no reason why they should not be allowed to pursue every dream they have ever had. Let them pursue the gold if that is what their heart desires.</p>

Even those who run for fun and exercise find themselves wanting to enter in a marathon or triathlon. This is the time when a running calendar can come in handy. This is a calendar in which you record your running and your increases in distance and speed. You will be able to record outside events which might have had an influence on your progress while training. There are many benefits to the calendar as you will see.</p>
<p><strong>Motivational Tool</strong></p>
<p>If you are making sure to keep up with your running calendar every day it will serve as a motivational tool. This is because you will feel inclined to at least look at your calendar every day. This is why you should have a calendar which is in plain sight. Make sure you do not confuse this with a running journal which is also a good idea to keep. You want to make sure the calendar is something which will not be kept in a drawer or desk. Keeping it out in plain sight will make sure you are motivated to make entries after your training.</p>
<p><strong>Tracking Progress</strong></p>
<p>The running calendar serves as a quick and easy tool from which you will be able to see the distance you ran and the length of time it took you to run it. This is especially effective if you run the same route every day. You will be able to see an improvement in the time which you complete the run. You can then track your progress as you switch to more difficult routes. You might want to detail out the route in your running journal and number the route. This way you can easily reference the route on your calendar without taking up valuable space.</p>
<p><strong>Keeping on Track</strong></p>
<p>The running calendar can also serve as a way to keep your training on track. This is important if you are planning to switch routes on a certain date, practicing using drills or taking days off. This will help you to avoid the pause in which you are trying to figure out what you are going to accomplish in the days run. Take the time to sit down and plan out at least a few days in advance. This will help you to prepare for the next day and to steal the energy you will need to accomplish especially difficult training days.</p>
<p>One thing you should include in your training calendar is to include High Intensity Training days. These should be included at least once a week. This is a very effective training method which will help you to build strength and stamina. It is a method which is used by some of the best runners in the world. It is not an easy training method to accomplish because it is deceptively easy to do. What starts as an easy exercise will drain you completely in a third of the time as a long run, but have more long lasting results.</p>

This is why so many people are swimming for fitness. They like the idea that 30 minutes in the pool is like an hour on the track. The problem some people find in the swimming is monotony. This is why many people have been turning to competitions as a way to excite things a little bit. This is a fun way for even those who are not competitive to have another reason to get in the pool and give it their all.</p>
<p><strong>Swimming Meets</strong></p>
<p>Most any gym which offers swimming for fitness will have some kind of swim meet they hold. If you cannot find one at your gym, you can often find them in the parks and recreation department of your area. You can sign up for the age group or skill level you are at. This will allow you to get involved in a competition which will be at your level. As your strength and skills progress you can elevate the level of competition you are entered into.</p>
<p><strong>Swim Clubs</strong></p>
<p>Most cities will have swim clubs you can join up with. These are clubs which go well beyond swimming for fitness. In fact, these are the kinds of organizations which are responsible for training Olympic athletes as well as professional athletes. You will be able to find higher levels of competition, not to mention better instruction to improve your swimming techniques. Not all swim clubs are open to the public. You may have to meet some qualifications before you are able to join. Just take a look at the club you are thinking about joining before asking to become a member to make sure you qualify.</p>
<p><strong>Competing in Triathlons</strong></p>
<p>For those who pursue more than just swimming for fitness, the triathlon is a great way to take your competition to the next level. This is a competition which includes swimming, biking and running. It is a total test of your abilities both in strength and in stamina. Most people are happy with just finishing the triathlon, so there is no shame if you do not come in the top ten. Training for such an event will take your fitness to a whole new level. To understand the scope of the competition, imagine your average swimming workout and then add biking and running to it.</p>
<p><strong>Maintaining Fun</strong></p>
<p>No matter whether you are swimming for fitness or for competition, make sure you make it fun. This is the only way you will be able to approach the training you will have to accomplish every day without resenting it. Your training and your exercise should not be something you force yourself to do. If it is, you are just doing the wrong thing. This is seen in the donation drives as well as the charitable events which are held every day. For those who are into running, there are many ways you can do your part by running for charity. While some people will compete in the events just to help with a good cause, this is also a great opportunity for you to test your fitness level. This is a great way to turn something you do for fun into something you can do to help out others.</p>
<p><strong>Finding a Charitable Event</strong></p>
<p>There are several running for charity events held every year in cities around the nation. Finding them is quite often as easy as looking in the newspaper. Another very good source for these types of events is through the internet. You can find the events in the running schedule for your city. Another great source to find these kinds of events is through running clubs and stores which support running events often. They will have sections within the store where they list all upcoming events you can sign up for.</p>
<p><strong>Getting Involved</strong></p>
<p>Once you have found an event, the next step in running for charity is signing up. Depending on the event, this can include a registration fee. Others will ask you to find sponsors for your run. Many people like to sign up for runs which ask you to find sponsors. This involves you having people sign up to donate money depending on if you finish, and the place which you finish. The reason why many people prefer this is because it allows them to earn even more money for the charitable event than simply donating a registration fee.</p>
<p><strong>Training for the Race</strong></p>
<p>For some people, running for charity is something they are doing as a part of their training for another event. This can be another running event or it can be a triathlon. For others, the race itself is what they are training for. If this is your case, make sure your everyday runs are longer than what the actual race will be. This will allow you to breeze through the race on the day it happens. You should also make sure that you take a few dry runs of the course you will be running. This way you will be able to find a good pace for the race.</p>
<p><strong>Racing Day</strong></p>
<p>When it is time for the actual race, you should be well prepared and well rested. You should have also gotten a good breakfast at least an hour before the start time. Remember to drink lots of water and to wear your sun screen. Running for charity is a very noble way for you to give back to your community and those in need. Make sure you take the right steps so that you will not be harming yourself in the process and you will be able to enter in many more events in the future.</p>

<p><strong>Running Schedule</strong></p>
<p>Running is another part of the triathlon schedule which must be planned out. People will make a lot of excuses as to why it is not a good day to go running. Buying the right rain gear will help you to run in the rain if you have to. While the treadmill is not the optimal training environment, it is a lot better than taking the day off from running. It is important that you learn the endurance which will only happen from putting in the time on the ground.</p>
<p><strong>Cycling Schedule</strong></p>
<p>The cycling part of the triathlon schedule is perhaps the easiest part to keep motivated with. This is because many people view it as the easiest part of the triathlon. Make sure this does not cause you to take the portion any less seriously. You should always be pushing yourself to ride faster and improve upon the cycling leg of the triathlon. This will help you to make up time you might have lost in other portions of the competition. Make sure the schedule you create will include a rigorous training schedule on the bike. This should include climbs even if there are no climbs in your route.</p>
<p><strong>Practice Triathlon</strong></p>
<p>Perhaps one of the most important parts of the triathlon schedule is the dry runs. To complete these, it is a good idea to employ your friends to help you. This is because you need someone to be able to help you if you are in trouble. Your friend can also make sure you have what you need where you need it. The last thing you want is to set out your equipment only to find it lost or stolen when you go to retrieve it. Go as hard and as fast as you can in these dry runs to see how prepared you are and improve.</p>

This kind of swimming recreation is something which is often shared with your children. You encourage them to enjoy the simple act of swimming so that they can get the fitness and the recreation you enjoyed when you were a child. You have probably moved on from simple recreation or are looking for ways to move on from it. This is possible through many different avenues at your disposal.</p>
<p><strong>Community Charity Meets</strong></p>
<p>There are many different charitable organizations which will hold swimming events to raise money. This is a great way for those looking for something more than swimming as recreation to get involved in something which will do some good for the neighborhood as well as for their health. There are usually different events you can sign up for. Everything from a 25 yard dash to a mile swim is available for you to compete in. There are usually different heats or skill levels at which you can compete. Even if you do not do well overall, you have helped to raise money for a good cause.</p>
<p><strong>Local Triathlon Events</strong></p>
<p>A great way to take your swimming recreation to the next level is to challenge yourself to complete a triathlon. This is a challenging event which will give you a sense of accomplishment even if all you do is finish the event. This is because the triathlon is such a challenging event. It will take all of your strength and endurance to make it through. Training for the triathlon will take you out of the pool and put you on a bike as well as on the track. Just training for such an event is fun in and of itself.</p>
<p><strong>Swimming Groups</strong></p>
<p>There are many people who would like to share their love of swimming with others. This is where a swimming group comes in. Whether you are in it strictly for swimming recreation or you are a competitive swimmer, you are sure to find others with the same interests. This is a great way to find out about competitions you can get involved in as well as have someone you can talk to about your workout and what they recommend to get more out of what you do in the pool.</p>
<p><strong>Doing Your Own Thing</strong></p>
<p>Remember, there is no pressure to take your swimming to the next level. If you enjoy swimming recreation because it is fun for you, there is nothing wrong with that. Your motivation for doing something more challenging should be because it seems like it will be fun for you. Having fun is what it is all about. If competition does not sound like fun to you, by all means continue on. If, however competition sounds like fun to you, there are many different avenues you can explore. You can always improve your performance and the level of competition you are involved in. Just get out there and get involved.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="left" title="snail" src="http://www.swimbikerunner.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/snail.jpg" alt="" width="240" height="160" />There are many different reasons that a person may decide that they would like to compete or participate in a triathlon, do one of the multiple types of cycling, swimming or running and more. These are all activities that many people find enjoyable but are also all activities that take training. One of the main reasons that many run triathlons are the programs themselves they may be participating in.</p>
<p>Some triathlons or other related evens are for causes such as breast cancer or aids and more. This can mean a great deal to a person morally and emotionally especially if they have had a family member or have themselves had to deal with the cause that the event is for. Many of these events have proceeds that go to victims or to help these things not happen to more people and for many people this is very important and is there way of making a difference. In addition, it means that each person who participate counts and each person who can make it till the end also counts, to some their speed may count but to most it is simply having the endurance to be able to make it to the end.</p>
<p><strong>As mentioned above the main thing a person will need to be able to complete a triathlon is endurance.</strong> For many people they prefer to say stamina is what is needed but no matter what way you chose to look at what is needed what a person’s main goal should be is to  be in good enough shape to be able to make it across the finish line. This is true for running, swimming, cycling and triathlons. When competing in order to win you still should make sure to make a point of strengthening your stamina or endurance because these are what you need to be able to make it through a triathlon or a competition in any of these areas.</p>
<p>When training for endurance or stamina you need to be able to make time for yourself to be able to train and you need to start early. When you find out you will be entered into one of these events you should try to start building endurance as soon as possible. It can be helpful if you use the activity itself to help you build this endurance. This normally starts with setting a timed limit for these actions such as swimming for one hour or more or running for an hour and not allowing yourself to stop.</p>
<p>Some individuals need to start at much lower amounts of time such as five minutes or even fifteen, and then you work yourself to longer amounts of time. When you do this you are helping to make sure you will be able to pass that finish line. While some people compete simply to win others simply enjoy the feeling of knowing that they did it and that they achieved something that others have not been able to.</p>
